PASTOR'S PRAYER TIPS

PRAYER BASICS

Do you know that prayer changes things? Prayer is how we keep an ongoing relationship with God. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, simply fill out the form located to the left of this message and we will place you on Pastor Davis' prayer list. In the mean time, find you a quiet room in your house and begin your 1 on 1 relationship with God by speaking to Him exactly what is on your heart.

MAKE DAILY DECREES

Anytime you have certain things that you are believing for God to change in your life, it is essential that you make some daily decrees that are reflective of your prayer requests. Decrees are simply set phrases that you speak over your circumstance to help remind you that God is in the process of turning your situation around. They are not a reminder to God that you are in need. Decrees are for the continuing development of your faith in God.

GOD HAS ALREADY MADE THE ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYER AVAILABLE FOR YOU

It is important to understand that through the finished works of Jesus Christ, God has already made available everything that we will ever want, need or ask for in this Life. 2 Peter 1:3 tell us, "His divine power has given us to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness..." Because of this, we are believing with you that whether your request is for healing, finances, family, restoration, etc...that it is already a done deal in Jesus' name.

ASK IN JESUS' NAME

Jesus tells us in John 14:13-14 that "...whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."Jesus is giving us some important instructions concerning how we should approach God when we pray. So make sure the things you are wanting done in you life are getting asked in the mighty name of Jesus.

CRYING AND SHOUTING WON'T INCREASE THE POWER OF YOUR PRAYER

God is not deaf of even hard of hearing. Lol. As a result, when we yell and scream at God, we are not getting Him to move any faster on our behalf. God isn't moved by our emotionalism. God is moved by our faith. In other words, when you make your prayer requests known to God and then begin applying faith to what you are believing for, God will move on your behalf.

DO YOUR PRAYERS LINE UP WITH GOD'S WORD?

Make sure that your prayers are in line with God's Word. It's important to understand that He will not go outside of His, already-established, system to answer our prayers. So for example, if you are praying that some man or woman gets divorced so they can be with you, you can't expect God to honor that. Or if you get mad at someone and ask God to kill them...lol. Why? Because that violates His Word. So make sure your prayer requests are wholesome and positive.

APPLY FAITH TO YOUR PRAYERS

Hebrews 1:11 defines faith as being the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. So when you pray, you must also take action to what you're praying for. Faith without works is dead. So if you're believing for healing, an example of applying faith towards your healing means speaking to others in advance how God is going to show up. An example of putting your faith to work is  taking your dieting/exercising to another level. These are the things that will get God's attention to move in your life.

REMOVE ALL FEAR

The biggest contamination chemical to our faith is fear. This is what the enemy uses to attack your confidence and keep you from walking into God's best for your life. FEAR CANCELS OUT FAITH. It doesn't matter how hard you pray or how much you decree. If you allow fear to grip what you're believing for, then expect nothing to happen in that prayer area.
